Rebecca L. Zeilenga practices in a variety of areas of law, including: Family Law and Adoption.
Mrs. Zeilenga handles cases in Cook County, DuPage County, Kane County, Lake County and the surrounding collar counties.
Mrs. Zeilenga received her Bachelor of Arts degree, Summa Cum Laude, from Arizona State University in 2003.
In 2007, Mrs. Zeilenga earned her Juris Doctorate from Chicago-Kent College of Law. Mrs. Zeilenga was an associate at a chicagoland law firm for in excess of ten years prior to opening her own firm in 2018.
Mrs. Zeilenga is active in the legal community. She previously served as the Co-chair of the Northwest Suburban Bar Association Matrimonial Law Committee and Golf Committee. She is currently on the Illinois State Bar Association Member Services Committee. She also on a number of occasions has been a speaker at continuing legal education programs where she speaks on legal topics to other attorneys.

Parental Allocation

Parental Allocation is the term now used in Illinois for what used to be referred to as Custody. Children are the most important asset of a marriage so parenting issues often are the most emotionally draining during a divorce. If litigation regarding parental allocation becomes necessary Mrs. Zeilenga has the unique ability to zealously represent you will still showing compassion for the situation.

Child Support

Not only is the child’s parenting schedule and decision making important in a case, but also assuring that the necessary resources are available to maintain the child’s standard of living. Mrs. Zeilenga has the experience to ensure that the proper child support and child related expenses provided for under the law are applied in each matter.

Adoption

Mrs. Zeilenga has experience handling contested and uncontested adoptions. She is also a member of the Department of Children and Family Services Adoption Panel.

Division of Assets

This is one of the most complex issues in a divorce. Mrs. Zeilenga has a great deal of experience in dealing with martial property, non-marital property, determining the value of a business, dividing retirement accounts and accounting for missing funds.
